It is Personal and Corporate: a Reflection on Psalm 119:25-48, Genesis 9:18-29, Hebrews 6:1-12 and J

Father, make me understand that you are God. Please put false ways far from me. Turn my heart and my eyes toward you. Oh God, you are still concerned about shame. As with Adam and Eve when they stated they were naked, Noah cursed Canaan for seeing him naked. What is it about our nakedness as human that we must come to terms with? As the writer of Hebrews instructs us, we are to move toward perfection. We are to realize our assurance of salvation in Jesus. We are to move beyond the basic teaching about Christ to the tough stuff. Am I ready? Is the Church ready? The Gospel is about justice; personal and corporate transformation. Salvation is both personal and corporate. Oh my!! Jesus spoke the words of God. Jesus proclaimed personal and social reconciliation with God. Much work to do in my life and society. How do you respond?

Scripture texts are taken from the two-year daily lectionary cycle which follows the liturgical calendar and begins on the First Sunday of Advent.
