The True and False Self

I have begun pondering writing a piece, a manuscript, about the true and false self in light of my own discovery of the two in a very dramatic way in October 2010. In conservative spirituality the true self is all about orthodox doctrine. In liberal spirituality the true self is all about being real and authentic. Both have fostered a dichotomy and perpetuated an affirmation of the false self. A biblical spirituality is rooted in chosenness. The true self is not about me or you. The true self is about God and our union with God. More to come!
